Bar
Our friendly house-bar is a place to relax
after a long walk or a day's skiing. A wide range of New
Zealand beers and modestly priced wines from various parts
of the country will give you the opportunity to try something
new. Our bar is open in the evenings from 5pm to late
and in the busy times, or if the weather is keeping guests
inside, it opens early.
Drying Room
A drying room is available in the hotel. It is locked and
accessed by means of a room key but any belongings are
left there at your own risk.
Games Room
Located on the lower ground floor, a table tennis table and other activities provide entertainment in any weather.
Mezzanine Lounge
Our lounge above the dining room, provides comfortable chairs and a quiet atmosphere in front of the fire or try your hand at a little pool.
Restaurant
Our fully licensed restaurant is renowned for our Chef's creative
use of national produce for our a la Carte menu. But we have not forgotten
that some guests have simple tastes and a big appetite and our menu includes
a range of dishes to suit everyone. Reservations are necessary. Dinner hours
are from 6pm to 9pm. We can offer both table d'hote and full menu options to
tour groups.
The restaurant is not open for lunch except for special
bookings. Packed lunches are available if ordered the
night before.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant from 7.00am to
9.00am with continental and
cooked breakfasts available.
Sauna
There is a sauna down the stairs from reception that
is available after 4.00pm. Access is from both the men's
and women's' changing room. It is a mixed sauna.
Ski Shop
"Edge to Edge"
The Skotel ski hire facility is justly famous for the quality of its gear and
service. There is a complete range of skis and boards together with clothing.
The ski shop is down the stairs from the reception. Full details and a price

Ski Report
Each morning in the ski season a report on the mountain conditions
is put on a notice board to the left of the reception counter. It normally
reaches us by fax from RAL at about 7am and is put on the board when the reception
opens at that time. The report is up-dated if conditions change.
Spas
There are two spas: - an inside spa in the hotel next to the
sauna and garden spa in its own glass-walled building wityh access through
the backpackers bathrooms. You will need to book the spas at reception in half
hour time slots. Each is locked and the keys are available from reception at
the time your booking starts.

Electricity
Please help us conserve this scarce resource by turning
off your lights and television when leaving the room
and (in the superior rooms) turning down the thermostat
to 15 degrees
Business Services
FAX - The Hotel's facsimile number is (07) 892 3777 - please advise reception if you are expecting fax correspondence.
GYMNASIUM - We have an in-house gymnasium available with a small range of equipment. A key to the room is obtained from reception. Use is free for superior rooms and there is a small charge for other guests.
INTERNET - Internet booths area available ona system of tickets purchased from the reception.
Keys
The front door of the hotel is locked after the bar is closed.Your room key opens the side door next to the main doors and both entrances in the backpackers wing.
Luggage / Storage
We can store your luggage for you, before you check in or after you have checked out. Make your arrangements at reception.
Laundry Room
The laundry is in the 200 block right opposite room 213. The charge for the washing machines or the dryer is $2. Change for the machines and soap power at $0.50 per bag is available from reception. An iron and an ironing board are supplied to all superior rooms and there is an iron and ironing board in the laundry for other guests.
Massage
A qualified masseuse is available by appointment
Mail
Mail leaves the Hotel at 10.30am Monday to Saturday. Please drop off any mail for posting before 10.00am. We can assist you with stamps for your letters and postcards.
Minishop
The reception has a small range of things you may need including snack bars and toiletries. A larger range and groceries can are available at the motor camp store in the village.
Parking
There are several parking areas around the SKOTEL. When you are staying in the '200' or '100' rooms, the easiest access to your room is to park in the back car park and use the side entrance. The '300' rooms have car parking in the back of the hotel. The front rooms can be entered through the balcony door. The chalets have their own carport.
Telephone
Superior and Standard rooms have direct
dial telephones. Local calls are free, the surcharge
on toll costs is modest. The connection can be used by
a lap-top to access the inetrnet. Cabins do not have
telephones.
There is a card phone in the hotel and a phone to make free local calls in the foyer.
